Cherry BBQ Sauce
Ingredients
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 onion, diced
1 tsp Epicure Minced Garlic
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 cups cherries - pitted and halved
2 tsp cornstarch
juice of 1/2 lemon
Directions
In a multipot pot, add pitted cherries and cornstarch. Stir well to combine. Cook over medium heat till juice is release and sauce starts to thicken. Remove from heat. Set aside for later.
In fry pan or perfect pan, heat vegetable oil over medium high heat. Add onion and cook about 4 minutes. Add Minced Garlic. Cook and additional minute. Add ketchup, brown sugar, cooked cherries and seasoning. Using the 2 in 1 Citrus press, squeeze juice from 1/2 lemon. Add to sauce. Stir.
Add salt and pepper to taste. Adjust flavour as you like. Simmer for 15 minutes.
Remove from heat. Let cool. Pour into glass container or cruet using funnel.
When ready to BBQ use our amazing basting brush to slather a nice thick layer onto meat. in the final minutes of grilling
