Hibiscus Watermelon Sangria
Ingredients
6 C watermelon ( divide 5 cups & 1 cup - garnish)
1 bottle Rose wine
1/2 C vodka ( watermelon flavor optional)
1/4 cup Cointreau or Triple Sec
1 cup Epicure Hibiscus Bliss Tea (brewed as on package)
1/4 to 1/2 cup Hibiscus infused Simple Syrup (see below)
1 med. lemon
1 med. lime
1/2 cup blueberries or other fruit cut into smaller pieces
Soda water, Lemon Lime soda or other sparking clear beverage
HIBISCUS INFUSED Simple Syrup
In Epicure 8 Cup Multipurpose Pot add 1 cup water and 1 cup white sugar, stir. Add 1 Hibiscus Bliss Tea Bag and cook over a med high till boiling and reduces slightly. Let cool and pour into Epicure’s Cruet using Epicure funnel. Place in fridge and use within the week.
DIRECTIONS
In a blender add 5 cups of watermelon and process till smooth.
Strain to remove solids and seeds. Pour strained juice into a large pitcher.
Add Vodka, Cointreau, Chilled Rose Wine and brewed tea.
Add Infused syrup to desired taste. Stir.
Cut lemon and lime in half and using the 2 in 1 citrus press, juice them. Cut remaining citrus halves into slices and add with lemon and lime juice to Sangria. Add additional blueberries or cut fruit.
Fill a glass 2/3 full. Top up with Sparkling beverage of choice and serve with Hibiscus Ice Cubes.
